   OVERVIEW

“EXPERIMENTAL” LENS

The Type SK Primes are a remarkable reinvention of Canon rangefinder optics from the 1960s, wildly tuned and enhanced with new glass elements for modern filmmaking. These lenses maintain their vintage character with coatings that produce beautiful, low-contrast images and signature golden flares. Despite their roots in older optics, they deliver exceptional sharpness, even wide open, and exhibit surprisingly low chromatic aberration—an impressive feat for vintage-inspired high-speed lenses. Their distinctive painterly bokeh brings a richness and depth to images that is difficult to replicate with modern lens designs.

UNIQUE AND VERSATILE

Built for today’s demanding productions, the updated housings feature 110mm fronts, 300-degree focus rotation, PL mounts, and matching gear positions for seamless usability. Close-focus capabilities have been significantly improved, expanding the creative possibilities of these lenses. With additional focal lengths in development, the Type SK Primes continue to blend retro aesthetics with cutting-edge functionality, making them a unique and versatile tool for cinematographers.
