The Master Built Soft Flares lenses offer a masterful blend of vintage aesthetics and modern design. These lenses bring forward a soft-edged, low-contrast look, infusing a nostalgic vibe into contemporary large-format cinematography. Despite their vintage look, the lenses are housed in modern casings, covering various formats ranging from Super35 to IMAX 65.
The Classic Prime lenses have a wide T1.4 to T22 aperture range, 300° of focus barrel rotation, and a 114mm front diameter that is shared across the lens series for quicker, easier lens changes when working with a matte box or other lens accessories.
Each lens in the series incorporates aspherical elements for aberration control using fewer lens elements. The solidly built Classic Primes offers focus marks in feet and smooth focusing.
